We run a few programs that are dedicated to providing food for children in need. Join us in helping local children by becoming a donor or volunteering your time with us
Bagman Backpack Program
This program aims to meet the needs of hungry children at times when they are not in school to receive their free breakfast and lunches, such as weekends and school vacations. The food in the backpacks are child-friendly, nonperishable, and easy to consume. Backpacks are discreetly distributed to children on the last day before the weekend or holiday vacation.
High School Pantry Program
The schools obtain food from the Western Maryland Food Bank and store it in a designated area at the school. Each school also has a small refridgerator for any perishable items. Students are able to visit the pantry as often as needed, and can discreetly use it to get food for lunch if they did not have anything available at home to bring.
How You Can Help
Donate Money
Anything you are able to give is greatly appreciated. You can sponsor a child with a weekly or monthly gift of $5 or more.
Donate Time
We need volunteers who will:
- Pack individual backpacks for distribution
- Be a contact who will pickup or deliver backpacks

Bagman Packpack Program
How it Works
This program began in January of 2008, at just two area schools with 24 backpacks being delivered. Since then we have grown to delivering at 11 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 alternative school, and 1 special education school. We now deliver 360 backpacks per week!
Program groups obtain the food from Western Maryland Food Bank. Volunteers then fill the backpacks and drop off the bags on Fridays. The school distributes the backpacks and then collects the empty backpacks early the following week. a volunteer from then picks up the empty backpacks to be filled again.
